Create a customer account
A customer account represents one of your customers inside your ErgOps organization. Transport activity, calculations, reports and portal access are all organized per customer account.
Before you start#
- ErgOps Embedded must be enabled for your organization.
- You need the Organization Manager or Sustainability Manager role. Viewers can see customers but cannot create or edit them.
How to create a customer#
- Open ErgOps Embedded → Customers.
- Select + Create Customer.
- Enter the Customer Name (required).
- Optionally add Legal Name, External Reference, Country, Industry and Website (must start with
https://). - Choose Portal Visibility. New customers default to Private.
- Select Save Customer.
External reference#
The External Reference is the identifier your own systems use for this customer — for example an ERP, CRM or TMS ID.
- It must be unique within your organization.
- It is how the Developer API finds the customer (
customer_reference). A customer without an external reference cannot be used through the API. - The same reference used by another ErgOps organization is unrelated and never visible to you.
Customer statuses#
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | The customer can receive transport links, API calculations and portal access. |
| Inactive | The customer is paused; the portal is unavailable. |
| Archived | The customer is closed. History is preserved. |
Archive a customer#
On the customer's Settings tab, select Archive Customer and confirm.
Warning Archiving cannot be undone from the panel. The portal is switched to Hidden, all portal access is revoked, and the customer can no longer be edited or linked to new activity. Historical results remain available. Only an Organization Manager can archive.
Customer capacity#
Your agreement includes a number of customer accounts. If you reach it, ErgOps shows The Embedded customer account capacity has been reached. Archived customers do not count toward this number.
