Customer emissions and reports
Once a customer account exists, you attribute transport activity to it. ErgOps then shows the customer's emissions and lets you generate a customer report.
Attribute transport to a customer#
You can attribute activity in two ways:
- In the panel: in Carbon Operations → Distance Calculation, choose the customer in Customer (optional) when you record a transport activity. The default, None — internal Operations, keeps the activity internal.
- Through the Developer API: send a calculation with the customer's
customer_reference. See Send your first API calculation.
Linking adds customer context only. It does not change the distance, the emission factor or the calculated result.
Note Only transport activities that have a calculated result count as customer emissions. An activity that is linked but not yet calculated appears in the customer's transport list without an emissions value.
Review a customer#
Open ErgOps Embedded → Customers and select a customer. The customer page has these tabs:

The reporting period is the current calendar year. When a value has no data, ErgOps shows No data rather than zero.
Generate a customer report#
- Open the customer's Reports tab.
- Select Generate Report.
ErgOps saves a report for the current calendar year as a fixed snapshot — later data changes do not alter it. The report lists the customer's emissions, transport breakdown and methodology information. Reports appear in the panel and in the customer's portal with their title, period and date.
Note Customer reports do not make certification claims. Generating a report does not count toward usage.
Usage#
Linking an already-calculated activity to a customer records one customer-attributed calculation for your contract. Unlinking and relinking the same activity does not record it again. See Usage and contract capacity.
