Facilities, assets and meters
Facilities are the physical sites of your organization. Inside each facility you can register assets (buildings, lines, machines, fleets) and meters, so that data can be traced to where it was produced.
Before you start#
- Create at least one facility — see Add your first facility.
- Adding assets and meters requires the Organization Manager, Sustainability Manager or Facility Manager role. Facility Managers work only in the facilities assigned to them.
The operational hierarchy#
Open Facilities in the sidebar. The Facilities & Assets page shows:
- counts of facilities, assets, meters, mapped and unmapped meters
- the Operational Hierarchy — facilities at the top, assets nested beneath them
- the Meter Registry — every meter and whether it is mapped to an asset
Filter by facility, asset type or status (Active, Maintenance, Inactive, Decommissioned).
Add an asset#
- Select Add Asset.
- Choose the Facility and, if the asset sits inside another asset, a Parent asset.
- Enter a Name, optional Code, and the Asset type — for example Building, Production Line, Boiler, Compressor, HVAC, Solar System or Vehicle Fleet.
- Set the Criticality and, where relevant, the production unit and commissioning date.
Add a meter#
- Select Add Meter.
- Choose the Facility and Meter type: Electricity, Water, Natural Gas, Steam, Heat, Fuel, Compressed Air or Other.
- Enter a Name, a Meter code (used to match imported readings), and the Unit.
- Choose the Aggregation role — Primary, Submeter, Informational or Derived — and a Parent meter for submeters.
- Choose the Reading mode — interval consumption or cumulative reading — and the expected reading interval.
Map a meter to an asset#
Select Map Unmapped Meter (or map from the registry):
- Direct — the meter belongs to one asset.
- Shared — the meter serves several assets. Allocation percentages must add up to exactly 100%.
Set Effective from and a Mapping confidence, then select Confirm Mapping.
Tip Map primary meters first. Submeters under a mapped parent let ErgOps check that submeter totals reconcile with the parent — large gaps raise an alert.
