Verified Impact
Verified Impact measures what actually changed after you completed an action, using your own data — and keeps expectations, observations and verified results clearly apart.

The three kinds of impact#

Important An observed change shows what happened after an action, not that the action caused it. Weather, production volume or other changes can also affect the numbers. Treat an observation as evidence to review, not as proof.
The workflow#
Recommended action → implemented action → observed data → measurement → verification → realized impact
Measure an action#
The action must be Completed, belong to a facility, and have an implementation date.
- Select Measure an action and choose the action.
- Choose the Impact type: electricity, natural gas, water, Scope 1, Scope 2 or approved utility cost.
- Choose the Baseline method: previous period, same period previous year, custom period or rolling average.
- Set the baseline and post-action periods. The post-action period must start on or after the implementation date.
- Optionally add normalization (for example by production), the expected impact, and any external events that may have affected the data.
Measurement statuses#

| Observed | A before/after change has been measured |
| Needs review | Something needs a closer look — for example another action claims an overlapping period, or the normalized result did not improve |
| Verified | Reviewed and frozen |
| Inconclusive | The review could not confirm an impact |
A confidence level is shown only when data coverage for the periods is complete.
Verification#
An Organization Manager can mark an observed measurement as Verified when it has confidence, no conflict with another action, and — where normalization was chosen — a normalized improvement.
A verified result is a frozen snapshot. If the underlying data changes later, select Create reassessment to measure again; the original stays unchanged.
Tip Have someone other than the person who recorded the measurement review it before verification.
