Track a carbon budget

A carbon budget sets how many tonnes of CO₂e you allow yourself over a period, then compares actual and forecast emissions against it.

Open Plan → Carbon Budget and select Create Carbon Budget.

Create a budget#

1. Enter a name and the period.
2. Enter the Total budget in tCO₂e.
3. Choose the Scope coverage and Facility coverage.
4. Optionally link a Related target.
5. Choose the Scope 2 method.

New budgets are saved as drafts and appear on the page with their forecast.

Forecast#

Choose how ErgOps projects the rest of the period:

And which future to show — Forecast mode: current trajectory, with planned actions, with an approved plan, or a custom scenario.

Read the results#

• Budget pathway — allowance, actual and forecast over time
• Burn rate — average monthly emissions and the annualized rate
• Facilities — which sites use the most budget
• Actual data quality — how reliable the actual figures are
